In the communities HMD serves, food insecurity often follows a predictable seasonal pattern: harvests run out before the next planting cycle closes the gap, and the most vulnerable families — especially those headed by widows or with young children — are hit hardest.
Emergency food distribution alone doesn’t close this gap permanently. It has to be paired with the agricultural knowledge and inputs that let a family produce more next season than it did this one.
